All puppies are delivered with the following:
- Tails are docked and dew claws removed 48 hours after birth
- Early neurological stimulation from 3 to 17 days of age
- Neogen Ingenity Canine - Verein Deutsch Drathhaar test
- Exposure to noise, birds and water
- First round of shots
- Microchipped
- NAVHDA registration (Limited)
- AKC registration (Limited)
- Litter trained to accelerate house breaking
- Pictures and videos are posted regularly to Google Photos from birth until they go home so you can be part of the experience from the beginning.
- Puppies are assigned by Big Sioux Kennels
You can bring your puppy home when they are 7-8 weeks of age. Any puppies that cannot be picked up beyond 9 weeks of age may incur a boarding fee. I encourage pickup in person. I like meeting buyers face-to-face; you get to meet the mothers and it's less stressful than flying. However, I understand life happens and will work with you to ensure a safe delivery.
Participation in North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association (NAVHDA) or Versatile Hunting Dog Federation (VHDF) training and testing is also encouraged. The goal of both organizations is to help hunters better train their dogs.
To support that goal, we will reimburse the test entry fee for any dogs that pass the NAVHDA Natural Ability (NA) test. This is a $150-$200 value, depending on the fees set by the individual chapters. Training for the NA test will give your dog a solid foundation to begin hunting, you'll meet a lot of good people and it's a lot of fun.
